Nina Seed lives in Westwood, Massachusetts with her husband Graham, her two boys Oliver and William and two dogs Chase and Chloe. Nina has dual citizenship and runs an interior design business Nina Seed Interiors. For a look at her recent work, you can follow her on Instagram @nina_seed_interiors "After leaving Sherborne I took a gap year and went to secretarial college in Oxford, did a cookery course in Wiltshire and then went to Argentina for 6 months to live with a local family. I studied Modern European Languages at Durham University with an emphasis on Russian and Spanish and graduated in 1996 (having studied a total of 9 languages over the course of my schooling). During my time at Durham I took up as many opportunities as I could to learn about becoming a lawyer. In 1996, I received a full scholarship to law school in London and that was followed by a career as an intellectual property litigator at Herbert Smith (at the time, now Herbert Smith Freehills). In 2003 my husband and I decided to leave London and moved to Bermuda, where I worked briefly in the litigation department of a reinsurance company, until I had my boys. We moved back to the UK in 2008 and then on to Boston area in 2009. In 2010 I renovated our first house in the suburbs and went on to build our second house in 2013 and during that time pursued an online course in interior design. Once we were given green cards - which opened up the possibility for me to work for the first time since moving to the States – I decided to pursue interior design as a career. Rather organically, my first client came to me after she had seen our home and asked whether I would be able to help her do the same. It was a huge step and leap of faith to take on a full house build as a first client, but it launched my career very quickly into a viable business. I am fast approaching the 6 year mark in the industry. During that time I have been awarded Best Of Houzz for each year that I have been in business, I was selected to be a designer for the Boston Design Center, I have about 75 clients on my books, I’ve built/renovated more than 40 houses and have worked on multiple smaller scale projects. This year I was on the front cover of the annual issue of The Boston Globe’s makeovers magazine, and have been selected as a listee in Marquis Who’s Who in America; a great honor, having only arrived in this country 11 years ago."
